주석궁은 프랑스 식민지 시대에 시공되었고 인도차이나 반도 주지사의 근무지였습니다. 1954년에 베트남 군이 프랑스 군을 이긴 후 호치민 주석이 여기에 살기를 거부했고 대신 (1954년~1958년까지) 다른 단순하고 검소한 생가에서 있었습니다. 현재 주석궁은 베트남 사회주의 공화국 주석의 근무처로 사용됩니다. 다른 나라의 국가원수나 정부 관료가 베트남 방문시 여기에서 공식적인 접견 행사를 진행합니다.
